Education. Studies at the Faculty of Architecture at Cracow University of Technology in the years 1987-1992. Diploma under the supervision of Professor Tomasz Mańkowski (prof. dr hab. inż. arch.) – Rotonda House, mixed-use residential and retail building at Kazimierza Wielkiego Street/Trzech Wieszczow Avenues in Krakow – defended in 1992 with honours. International Doctoral Study Programme “Architecture of polycentrism” 1995-1996. PhD thesis under the supervision of Professor Maria Misiągiewicz (dr hab. inż. arch.) – Decompositional threads in contemporary architectural space, defended in 2005 at the Faculty of Architecture at Cracow University of Technology, the Minister of Infrastructure Honourable Mention, 2006. The degree of a habilitated doctor in 2014 for Expressionist Tendencies in Contemporary Architecture, Monograph 445, Architecture Series, Cracow University of Technology, Krakow 2013.

Work at the Faculty of Architecture CUT. 1991-1992 – assistantship at the Chair of Housing at the Institute of Architectural Design FA CUT; senior technical clerk in 1992; an assistant at the Chair of Housing IAD FA CUT – since 1994. Since 2005 an assistant professor at the Chair of Housing IAD FA CUT. Since 2011 an assistant professor at the Chair of Architectural Composition IAD FA CUT. Since 2013 an assistant professor at the [independent] Chair of Housing and Architectural Composition FA CUT. Since 2015 the head of the Chair of Housing and Architectural Composition FA CUT. Since 2016 the head of the Department of Housing and Architectural Composition IAD FA CUT. Since 2017 CUT Professor.

Participation in the international school of architecture. In the Venice-Krakow doctoral study programme, Instituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia and the Institute of Architectural Design at CUT in the years 1995-1996. The main topic of the programme: Per un’architettura del policentrismo – Architecture of polycentrism. As part of the programme: lectures, international seminars, summer schools of architecture in Krakow, Venice, Seville and Las Palmas. With the participation of professors from IUAV, from the universities of Rome, Milan, Seville and Las Palmas: Gianugo Polesello (an organiser, animateur, educator, outstanding figure in European architecture, the author of the original method of design that was later continued in the Chair of Housing Architecture FA CUT), Carlo Aymonino, Antonio Monestirioli (later doctor honoris causa from CUT), Guido Canella, Alfredo Drugman, Marina Montuori, Juan Manuel Palerm Salazar, Juan Luis Trillo de Leyva and professors from the Institute of Architectural Design FA CUT.

Teaching. Since 1993, conducting classes with a group of students in architectural and urban design in the field of residential architecture. Since 2005, occasional lectures on the Theory of Architecture for the second year students. Since 2005, a co-supervisor of Master’s diploma theses and engineer’s diploma theses. Two Master’s diploma theses received Concrete Architecture – Academic Award for the best diploma thesis of the year awarded by the Faculty of Architecture CUT and the Association of Cement Producers. Since 2014, a supervisor of engineer’s and Master’s diploma theses. Conducting lectures for first-cycle degree students FA CUT, year 2 semester 4, since 2017, for the second-cycle degree students FA CUT, year 1 semester 1, since 2017, lectures for the third-cycle degree (PhD) students, since 2016, invited lectures at Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (Department of Urban Planning). Commissioner of the Contest Concrete Architecture – Play of Solids – House in the landscape Architectural Student Contest, 2016, organized by the Department of Housing and Architectural Composition IAD FA CUT and the Association of Cement Producers. Organization of annual lectures by invited guests from the industry for the FA students. Commissioner of the National (annual) Academic Contest for the best diploma thesis of the year CONCRETE ARCHITECTURE, co-organized by the FA CUT and the Association of Cement Producers.

Teaching academic staff. Supervisor of five PhD theses (open registration and conferment procedure). Member of the Scientific Council of the Centre for Pedagogy and Psychology at CUT.

Creative output. Architectural activity conducted since 1993. The author and co-author of about 70 architectural conceptual and construction design projects, including constructed ones. Participation in 24 architectural, national and international exhibitions. Participation in architectural contests. Awards in architectural contests. Completed designs of graphic book layouts, book covers, publications and posters.

Research at CUT, statutory activity. The scope of the research work: Theory of Architecture – The poetics of architecture in the cultural context of the contemporary city. The aim of research and activity concerns the field of theory of architecture related to the architectural structures of the contemporary city. The area of general theory (and the related broad practice) extends beyond the field and character of the architectural form associated with “inhabiting”; or the theory regarding specific issues of housing architecture is included in the vast field of the theory of architecture. These are considerations conventionally called the poetics of architecture. Contributions to the research can be found in: T.
